Has Rick gone nuts?
Okay, no I haven't gone nuts. Why am I fooling around with a blog when I haven't updated the damn NVTC website in ages???? Because of that damn bet. Damn IRONMAN. Damn Big Ernie. Damn it all. Actually, my new office isn't as lax as my old Army job as far as computer use, so until I get high-speed internet at home, I can't really do much updating. I'll do what I can. But given that I don't even have cable TV yet, I can't swear that I'll get moving on high-speed net anytime soon.

I can only assume that the reason Rick is starting the blog is because he has read an article in "High Pointer" which advocates working out you fingers through typing as a replacement for any other form of exercise. On the training note, I am in for any race. I am thinking about running the Tampa Marathon in Jan. and/or the Miami Marathon in Feb. Anyone is welcome to join and I will, of course, thow Big E on the line for any head to head race. I have strung together a long run (12-14 miles) each of the last three weeks, probably putting me years ahead of Rick in the training cycle, not that it will help me in the end. I still have nightmares of him calling my name at the end of the Panama City Half. Bastard. Regardless, if anyone wants to pick another half to do as a warm up for the real thing, I will certainly make the effort. Finishing is another story.

Going to be in Tampa at the SOCOM conference from 24-26 February. When is the Miami marathon?

I might be up for the Miami marathon. I was talking with a friend of mine about doing Myrtle beach, but Miami may be a better option, especially if we can make it a little NVTC reunion.
